My Project

Our students will use these gardening supplies to plant seeds, maintain the growing plants, harvest the plants, and share with others. With the soil and seeds, we will be able to grow healthy vegetables for our students to try and take home to their families. Our school garden allows students the space to learn in a hands-on format about important nutrition information. We are asking for baskets to aid in our harvests and the brown bags to make it possible for students to easily take vegetables home.

In the garden, students get to explore, try new things, work hands-on, and see their hard work grow right before their eyes.

Maintaining the garden teaches students hard work and dedication. Part of that hard work includes providing support for our taller vegetables like tomatoes or a place for cucumber vines to grow upwards. In addition, students will need to prune back plants with the pruning scissors.

Gardening will also happen indoors in order to prepare for the spring growing season, so we are asking for supplies to assist us in our greenhouse. The mats will help us keep our space clean while we use the pods to begin to grow our plants from seeds. This step allows our students to stay active with gardening even during the winter months.
