Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Many of my students have not had the opportunity to experience growing their own plants. I want to be able to give my students the opportunity to experience this.

My students come from families in a high poverty part of the city.

English is spoken as a second language in most families. My students are always excited when I expose them to new experiences. They enjoy hands-on activities that challenge their thinking.

My Project

We need different kinds of growing kits that will help my students understand where plants, flowers, fruits, vegetables, etc. come from. With these kits my students will be able to have a classroom garden. They will learn how to take care of their garden. My students will keep a journal to record their observations. This project will improve my students writing and increase Their vocabulary. The books that are donated will also help my students learn about this process.

With FEED USA and your help I can make this project possible.

It is also an opportunity to talk about healthy living. Growing a garden will be a new experience for my students and I want to share this with them. This can be an experience my students can use in the future.
