My Project

We will use these materials to teach students how to garden, how to plant seeds, water, and take care of plants. Where we live it can cost a lot of money to get fresh fruit, vegetables, and herbs. If there is a way to teach students that they can grow their own food, that it is a lesson that will last them a lifetime.

Although the weather outside is often harsh and cold on our island in Southeast Alaska, these hydroponic grow systems will teach students how to grow vegetables and herbs all year around.

With what we grow I am hoping to use the herbs and vegetables to create delicious recipes for food we can make in class such as dill crackers, tomato & basil bruschetta, soups, and more! Not only will students learn how to garden with these materials, they will also learn how to make meals and snacks with the food they have grown themselves.
