My Project

I am in the project of starting a healthy school garden project that my current and future classes will be working on to develop for our school. We want recipes to have us get started and inspire us to use all the vegetables and fruits that we are planning to grow in our school garden. We want to have fun with recipes from different cultures and we want to also trying making our own ice cream! It'll be fun to try the foods and possibly make it at home with our families and experience different cultures. This is an important way for us to learn about other cultures and to develop compassion for others, especially understanding that we are all so different but the same in the fact that we all enjoy food with people; food brings us together. Gardening and cooking from the vegetables and fruits we grow will help to develop community. Following the recipes will also be a fun way to incorporate reading and math and see how these disciplines are in our everyday lives.

There are so many recipes from around the world out there for kids to enjoy- all ways to get them to learn to see the world through the eyes of another person, appreciate different cultures, and enjoy the food that they helped to grow themselves!

We also need a tank cleaner for our shrimp tank!
