Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

They can explore concepts like plant biology, ecosystems, and sustainability through real-world, tactile experiences. Garden tools will allow them to actively participate in each step of the gardening process—planting, watering, weeding, and harvesting.

Building Confidence: By watching their efforts come to life in the garden, students will feel a sense of accomplishment.

As they tend to their plants and see them grow, they’ll gain confidence in their abilities and feel a personal connection to the work they’re doing.

Promoting Teamwork: Having the proper tools, watering cans, watering spikes, and a dedicated space like a shed will allow students to collaborate and share the workload. They can work together to plant, nurture, and eventually harvest the garden, learning the value of teamwork and collaboration.

Goals for the project:

To create a vibrant, thriving garden that students can see grow and even enjoy eating from—showing them the cycle of life and the rewards of hard work.

To provide a hands-on educational experience where students can learn about the environment, agriculture, and healthy eating.

To foster a sense of community and teamwork through shared responsibility for the garden.

What makes the students special:

Their eagerness to learn is a wonderful quality that will help them dive into the garden project with excitement and curiosity. They are ready to explore new ideas, take initiative, and see the direct outcomes of their efforts. Their enthusiasm will make the project come alive, as they’ll bring energy and creativity to every part of the gardening process.
