My Students

As a teacher in a low income area, I try to teach my students the hands-on aspects of learning. My students are learning to work with each other, sharing their ideas and experiences to be successful. I don't want them to just use computers to learn, but to use each other to solve problems or to interact with one another. I want them to be kids that can work together as a team. I would like to give the students things they can play with outside as kids making memories and stories to share when they go home.

My Project

We are in need of stake labels for the plants in our garden, so that students can read the names of plants that they are planting. It will also help me when I tell students which plants to water. Our plants are also in need of tomato stakes so they can grow big and tall. The students get very excited to see the tomatoes as they grow and can be picked. Our garden is a place for students to get the hands on classroom needs as they explore the outside and how we can make a garden. We water our garden and feed it throughout the school year and summer.
