Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Remember how much you hated the lunchroom or you didn't really need to be home right away after school? I want students to enjoy history and want to stay in school. I am asking for games and magazines so my students can appreciate and learn history while also playing games and reading fun stories!

My students are great kids who want a smaller, quieter atmosphere in order to learn, grow, and connect with their teachers.

They love coming up during lunch time or after school looking for a teacher still in the building where they can hang out, play games and use the computers. It is a safer environment for them then staying home.

My Project

I want to create a place where students want to be after school, all while learning and connecting with each other and myself. I envision a classroom at lunch or after school where desks are put together in big groups and students are playing a game in which they must design the next wonder of the world, or competing to build the next great civilization. They are discussing and using history as a guide in their gaming capabilities. They are learning about our curriculum and connecting lessons from the classroom with their own skills in gaming. How amazing!

My students need games and cards that can help them connect and grow in SS to become effective citizens.

They need math and science magazines to engage with their class. My project will make a difference in the way my students learn and connect what they learn in and out of the classroom. They will feel confident in themselves and in their grades because they are learning through a mode they enjoy.
