My Project
Our classroom is a vibrant, dynamic space filled with curious minds, and with the right tools, it can become even more engaging, interactive, and student-centered.
This project asks for donations toward a set of creative, multi-use items that will enhance both academic learning and social development for my students.
At the heart of this request are personal magnetic dry-erase boards—a simple but powerful tool that can transform our daily review sessions into fast-paced, game show-style challenges. These boards will allow every student to actively participate in call-and-response style activities, from grammar and vocabulary games to quick comprehension-checks or discussion warm-ups. Because the boards are magnetic, they also double as surfaces for our existing magnetic poetry kits, encouraging creative expression and low-pressure play with language. To keep those boards functional and inviting, I’m also asking for a set of black dry-erase pens, ensuring every student has access to clean, bold writing tools that don’t run out mid-activity.
I also hope to build a more welcoming, community-centered environment by providing light snacks like chips and cookies during work sessions and community-building activities. These snacks help students feel cared for and comfortable.
Because our classroom includes cozy rugs, I’m asking for a small vacuum cleaner to help me maintain a clean and inviting learning space: you can’t believe how much kids shed!
Lastly, I’d like some packs of Pokémon cards as both a social tool and a reward system. These cards are a huge hit with my students, and they’ve sparked joyful, inclusive conversations across grade levels and friend groups. Whether they’re being used as prizes for classroom competitions or simply available for group play, these toys can encourage meaningful social interaction, cooperation, and fun.
