Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My middle school students are from many different backgrounds. Each of them has different needs in order to learn, in my opinion, the most comprehensive and interesting curriculum...science! They love having a guinea pig as their classroom pet. It has helped with building connections, classroom management, and responsibility.

My students love learning with hands-on experiences, labs, and experiments.

I want to engage my middle school students with what we are learning and make it come to life for them. Being a pre-teen and teenager is a difficult time in their lives. I want my classroom to be a safe haven where they come to learn, have fun and become life-long learners.

My Project

This school year has been very challenging for our students. It has been especially challenging for students who are completely remote. They have been learning from home for a full year since the COVID-19 pandemic began. With the Gimkit website, I can engage them to review concepts we have learned. They can play in teams and build camaraderie. This website offers many different types of games so that they will not become bored of playing, learning, and reviewing. These online games are easy to administer, observe, report data, and play through a virtual classroom.
