Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Mexico, Ecuador, China, Yemen, and Peru are just some of the countries that my students are from. English is the second language to most of my students. Majority of the parents do not speak English but they are always trying to do their best in supporting their child.

It doesn't matter where a child is from, every child has a thirst for learning.

Unfortunately, sometimes school does not feel fun for everyone because everyone learns in a different way. It is my job as a teacher to try my best in reaching and helping every student reach their potential, therefore, finding a way of learning that works best for them.

My Project

How can you make test preparation fun?

Well, one way of making it fun is to put students in fun stations.

Where they are not just reading passages and doing multiple choice. Some stations can be connected to technology, while others can be games. The board games that my students will use can reinforce the reading skills they were previously taught. These board games will also encourage communication, enhance my students English language skills, and allow them to have fun while learning.

In Math, some of my students lack the confidence and as a result, they are reluctant in trying or practicing what was taught. The board games will motivate some of my student that are having difficulty. It will excite them and hopefully they will gain that confidence and grow to love Math.
