My Students

My class is a mix of high school students--from Grade 9 to Grade 12. This group learned remotely for almost fifteen months, and the daily school routine is hard for them. They need time to focus on being kids.

Our elective class, Board Game Design, allows them time to be joyful and time to play.

My Project

My students need the chance to explore together, create together, work together, and play together. This elective course on game design has been developed to give them that opportunity. Three times a week, this group has the opportunity to come together and think about ways to make fun things.

In order to design games, they need to play--and understand--a wide variety of them.

I want to provide them with a variety of games--competitive board games, cooperative board games, card games so that they have ideas to draw upon when designing their own.
