My Project

A game room will provide my elementary students with a dedicated space to relax, socialize, and develop important life skills. Play is essential for young learners, not only for fun but also for cognitive, emotional, and social development. Incorporating games into their routine will allow students to engage in activities that promote critical thinking, teamwork, and problem-solving—skills that directly support their academic success. These games will offer an interactive way to develop these abilities outside the traditional classroom setting, making learning feel more dynamic and less stressful.

My students are a diverse group with unique backgrounds and needs.

They are curious, hardworking, and dedicated to their education. However, many of them face challenges outside the classroom that can impact their focus and overall well-being. Providing a game room will offer them an opportunity to decompress, strengthen relationships with peers, and build positive social habits. It will give them a space where they can build confidence, work together, and engage in healthy competition.

This project aims to create a balanced environment where students can relieve stress while still learning valuable skills. By integrating play with education, we can keep students motivated and excited to learn. In turn, this will help them stay engaged in their academic journey, ultimately fostering a positive school culture. My goal is to ensure that all students feel supported, valued, and inspired, not just through textbooks, but also through experiences that nurture their social and emotional growth. The game room will be a tool for all of these aspirations, helping them become well-rounded, successful learners.

Mrs. Wright Mastery Charter School - Douglass Grades 6-8
