My Students

My scholars show me their own creativity and individuality every day, yet they also show love and care for each other like a family. We laugh, we cry, we struggle , and we soar together. They may all have their own personal challenges, but they are amazing, and I am proud that I get to see them learn and grow. To help us with this growth we incorporate many different learning techniques including games to build social, cooperation, memory, communication and assertiveness skills and help build our classroom community.

What makes them special?

Uniqueness, spirit, love, resilience, passion, bravery and strength all come to mind. They are superheroes, sometimes flying, sometimes faltering, but always their fantastic selves. Many have been through extraordinary challenges in their short lives, coming from, or living in stressful situations, or struggling with personal difficulties, so that they have to work harder than many others. Yet they are kind, courageous and caring humans that want to learn and make a difference in themselves and their world.

My Project

My scholars need practice with using their social, cooperation, memory and assertiveness skills. These classroom games will help us with these skills as well as others such as fine motor and counting skills.

Playing games allows the scholars to practice skills such as patience and taking turns.

These are key skills in the educational environment as well as important life skills. Playing games together also builds the classroom community and relationships between scholars. Some games are also cooperative, so the scholars learn to work together to meet a goal.

These games will help my scholars with many skills to help them both inside of school and out in the community.
