This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I’m excited to share my project that aims to provide fun educational games focused on boosting literacy skills like phonics and comprehension. We are a Title 1 school that struggles to fund the extras that students need to make learning engaging and most importantly FUN!! Our 4/5 Self Contained Special Education classroom is a wonderful place of learning. My students have a wide range of literacy skills. They work so hard to make it through this very rigorous curriculum. They are also the "FUNNEST" bunch of students ever!! These games will make learning enjoyable and help reinforce important skills that students are learning in class. By bringing these resources into our classroom, we can inspire a love for reading and make learning a delightful experience for all my students!

Building Social-Emotional Skills

These games will also help students grow socially and emotionally. As they play together, they’ll learn how to work as a team, communicate better, and resolve conflicts in a friendly way. This collaborative play is a great way for them to build friendships and develop empathy, making them not just better readers but also caring individuals.

A Refreshing Break from Screens

In our technology-filled world, these non-digital games provide a welcome break from screens. They encourage students to connect face-to-face and enjoy hands-on learning experiences. By focusing on interactions and engagement without electronic devices, we can create a fun and focused learning environment that supports both literacy and well-being.
