Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

This project will support our students' physical wellness by providing sports equipment for them to engage in healthy competitive activities during lunch as well as after school. As a continuation school we do not have an athletic department and having equipment students can use outside the classroom will help them be more focused and ready to engage in classroom activities. We plan to host Wellness Wednesdays and have organized games and basketball tournaments for our students after school so that they can feel not only that they have a physical challenge but also build the connection to school as a safe place and take ownership and pride in their school. The phone chargers will allow students to stay connected to family while participating in after school sports activities on campus.
