Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach to a group of 30 Fifth Grade students in a lower-income part of East San Diego County. My students are resilient and face every challenge they meet head on. They are positive role models who want to make changes in the world for the better.

This year, we are working on bringing the fun back into learning.

I want my students to explore the content in new and exciting ways. They need to be able to interact with hands-on activities and have the content embedded into real-life contexts. This will help foster relationships and establish a positive classroom atmosphere.

My Project

Students today get bored very easily! They need stimuli to keep their brains awake and focused! We can use a workbook and paper to learn the standards, but when I can put games in their hands, I bring their learning to life! My students need engagement created by review and questioning through the use of games to fully immerse them in their learning! This way school no longer becomes this "boring" place, it becomes an exciting environment where they keep wanting more!

Students deserve to have fun and engaging ways to learn and should work together or make it a competition game for it to be even more exciting!

The more students can interact and communicate with each other, the better skills they will develop when entering the workforce. We need to be prepared to handle a complex array of clients and businesses so the more interaction they have now, they better!
