Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

We are seeking generous donations to create a Gaga ball pit and provide equipment (balls) for our inner-city high school, where students of all abilities can come together to learn and enjoy this exciting new game. Our school is committed to fostering an inclusive environment, and this project will provide our students with a unique opportunity to engage in a fun, active game that promotes teamwork, communication, and physical fitness.

Our high school is located in an urban area where funding for physical education resources is limited.

Many of our students come from diverse backgrounds, and we aim to provide them with opportunities that keep them active and engaged, both physically and socially. With limited resources, our adaptive PE students often miss out on regular activities that can enhance their physical skills and social interactions. By introducing Gaga ball, we can create an environment where all students feel included, regardless of their athletic abilities.

Project Goals:

Promote Inclusivity: Our aim is to foster a sense of belonging and teamwork among all students, including those in adaptive PE. Gaga ball’s simple rules and adaptable playstyle make it perfect for everyone to join.

Encourage Physical Activity: By providing an engaging and fun game option, we hope to increase physical activity levels among our students, combating sedentary behavior and promoting healthier lifestyles.

Build Social Skills: The collaboration required in Gaga ball will enhance communication, teamwork, and social skills, fostering positive relationships among students.

Create Lasting Enjoyment: With a Gaga ball pit and quality balls, our students will have the equipment necessary for years of play and enjoyment, enriching their school experience.
