Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I have a group of amazingly gifted first grade students this year. They are quick witted and incredibly kind. Their minds are constantly racing. In this day and age children have a lot to contend with no matter the age. Writing helps to process your feelings. Writing journals will definitely help with any big or small emotions they might be dealing with.

Writing will allow my students to express their feelings openly.

They will be able to actually label their emotions and gain perspective on situations, and, ultimately understand and manage their emotions better.

Managing their emotions in a better way will lead in my opinion, to reduced stress, improved mental well-being, and better academic performance. Putting their thoughts and feelings onto paper will help my students make sense of their feelings and work through them constructively.
