Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Traditional resources in the 21st Century are just not enough to spark students' interest in learning. "Great teachers show their students how to move mountains for themselves." I want to open the minds of my students and empower them to reach their ultimate goals in the fields of Math and Science.

My students come from many different backgrounds.

Most of my students are Hispanic. They love to create and explore concepts when conducting experiments, both in Science and Mathematics. The majority of my students come from a low socioeconomic status, therefore many of my students don't have access to any type of technology at home.

My Project

Having six iPads will enable my students to learn through the use of centers doing virtual labs in Mathematics and Science. Students will develop a deep understanding of challenging concepts through use of programs like Gizmos and Mega Math. These virtual labs are ideal for small groups, individual exploration and whole class instruction, providing the optimal experience for every child. With the iPads, my students will have two centers in the classroom using technology to expand their knowledge and empower them to become future scientists, engineers and mathematicians.

These iPads would provide the technology needed to spark interest and excitement in the my classroom in all subject areas.

Students will be able to explore apps, analyze data and research data. Having technology would provide my students with endless educational experiences.
