My Students

My students come from various backgrounds in a vibrant city. They have faced many challenges with the rise of COVID and will continue to persevere in their learning journey.

These new 5th graders will need our combined support this year.

My Project

With the use of this HP Color LaserJet printer my students will be able to create a vibrant log of their observations in nature. This year we will be returning to in class science instruction and much of our lessons will have discussions about our real-life observations. Our students have been stuck at home with little time spent outdoors and for some, it has hindered their knowledge of the environment they live in.

By bringing a little piece of nature into the classroom, with an aquarium and butterfly terrarium, it will create an opportunity to foster real-life experiences.

Students will gain knowledge about a different organism and its role within the environment we live in. It has also been studied that children who care for a pet or plant become more empathetic and can be used to treat mental health.
