My Students

Our middle school has a thriving GUITAR program to help bring music to students who don't fit the traditional band, choir, and orchestra mold. These students learn to read music, strum rock songs, and play killer riffs. These students have won several contests including a meet-and-greet with Weezer, an autographed guitar from Collective Soul, and were recognized by the Country Music Association and Radio Disney with awards in 2017. The program has taught nearly 1,000 middle school students to play guitar over its years of existence.

My Project

A looper will be such a great tool to use in the classroom. First, I can use it to show the students how multi-tracking works on the fly! So many musicians use loopers, it's time my students get ahead of the curve. Secondly, laying down a simple groove in class for students to improvise over will be invaluable! I also teach a songwriting unit and this tool will make my job so much easier and will give my students much better results! When students see video clips of Ed Sheeran using his looper they are in awe. Really excited at the possibilities that a looping station offers!
