Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My classroom is a 4th grade ICT classroom. There are two teachers, including myself (as the Special Education teacher).

This type of setting is a great way for students to learn and grow because they are getting the benefit of having two teachers in the classroom, yet there are still so many things that we need.

The school is in a high-poverty area, so many of my students do not have many luxuries. Yet, they always come in with a zest for learning and LOVE doing research.

My Project

My students thoroughly love doing research, but we have a significant lack of technology in our classroom. The only access we have to computers in our classroom are two desktop computers, one of which runs very slowly.

This IPad and the Chrome books would significantly help my students to be able to foster their curiosity and love of learning.

Technology is such an integral part of education and with a lack of it, students are not given the opportunity to explore the outside world and make the essential real-world connections that we all want for our students and our children.
