Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

As a teacher I have the pleasure of learning from my students. I know my students love to explore, discover and learn new things. The school I work for is in a Hispanic Community in the city of Cudahy, CA.

My students have expressed to me that they would like to join a sport, a club or take music classes.

Unfortunately many students in our school come from low income families, who can't afford to put their kids in extra curricular activities. I would love to be able to fill that gap in their learning.

My Project

All students are musically talented, whether they know it or not. What a better way to let their music talent shine through, than by playing the recorder. Many students are not given the choice to play an instrument, whether it be a money issue or music classes not being offered to serve all students at school.

I believe that if given the opportunity, every student would like to learn to play at least one instrument in their life.

As a teacher I always tell my students, "We never stop learning.” If my project is to be funded, what a great way to learn along with my students to play a recorder.
