My Students

How can students truly understand mathematics with just a pencil and a piece of paper? Many students are at a disadvantage when it comes to working with technology in the classroom setting. They are not fully exposed to all of the learning possibilities that new-age technologies would provide.

Our high poverty school is comprised of students from various ethnic backgrounds.

A great percentage of our students come from low-income homes; this is one of the main reasons why having access to technology in the classroom is so important. My students would truly benefit from being able to use the tablet to support their learning and to create direct connections with the subject matter.

My Project

Mathematics is a visual subject. By providing funds to purchase the tablet, my students will be able to explore various math sites, participate in interactive math games and activities, conduct research, and even create real-world connections with their daily lessons. The batteries will be used to energize my class set of calculators. My students are not able to support their learning of graphs and trigonometry due to the fact that their calculators have no batteries.

The future mathematicians of our school need your help.
