Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are exceptional! They are future leaders that set goals for themselves and are proactive in achieving them. They work hard each and every day. They work together collaboratively to achieve great things.

We are a title one high needs school.

Our school is a Leader in Me school that believes it takes a community to make leaders. My class is made up of predominately English language learners and a few general education students. They work together collaboratively to achieve great things.

My Project

Our classroom has eight old wooden tables that are stained and wobbly. The legs are constantly coming loose and occasionally fall off. We really would benefit from having a sturdy, safe work station when learning, exploring, and sharing. Our day is rigorous and demands a lot of group work and this is why it would be beneficial to have sturdy tables. My students understand that the quality of the their work and their effort should be exceptional, so I believe they should have the same high quality materials to work on when achieving their success.

I believe if students feel they have a safe and nurturing environment the they will achieve great things.

Students should feel that they deserve to have nice environment when working towards achieving their successes. They will be able to use these tables for group work that requires them to manipulate objects on the table, without fear of the table falling over.
