My Students

My students are awesome young leaders that just need to know that it's possible. They are struggling with reading at this point in their lives, but I know once they master it, there futures are limitless. My students are strong willed, curious, and eager. I am working with a bridge class of 4th and 5th grades. Their kindness and generosity are seen on a daily basis through the action with one another.

When my students master a concept, you see it on their faces, and they want to show you what they know.

They want to share that newfound knowledge with their classmate. Now to see them peer-teach is awesome, because in September they wouldn't even speak to their each other.

My Project

My students are in need of resources that supports their academic and social emotional needs, to know that they have choices. The importance of each child, take ownership of their own book, and developing the own self-identity in this world. I want them to be able to take the book home and read in their favorite spot and be able to share their feelings with peers and school community. To learn strategies, to support learning with bookmarks, highlighters or even bending the pages back to save their spot.

My vision is to encourage discourse and growth, to assist them to become problem solvers and higher order thinkers.

To hear the children's likes and dislikes about the book. I want them to see how I care for my books that I take home.

To encourage them to share their books with others. To share books with their siblings and classmates is truly showing a person that you care for them.
