This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am requesting a 3D printer to bring hands-on learning and STEM projects to my classroom. I teach a wonderful group of second graders who learn best by doing things and working cooperatively. Many of them are second-language learners, and hands-on activities help make learning stick. That’s why I’m asking for a 3D printer. This will make lessons exciting and interactive!

We will start by creating math manipulatives to help my students understand place value in a hands-on way.

Seeing and touching what they’re learning will make a huge difference! As they get more comfortable, they’ll design their own math models for geometry. Later on, they will build structures and use the printer to make simple structures and STEM projects. This printer will make learning more fun, engaging, and meaningful.

My second graders are creative and love exploring new things. This 3D printer will give them the chance to problem-solve, collaborate, and think like real engineers.
