Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

If we read about it, then we write at about it! That is the motto in our classroom. In our classroom, writing is a daily activity. From journal writing, to poetry, to short stories as well as research papers and book reports - there is always something to write about!

The 3rd and 4th grade boys and girls in my class come from various cultural backgrounds.

They embrace each others differences and look forward to learning about each other. We are in a school where classes are departmentalized, so they have one teacher for math, science and social studies and then are in my classroom for reading and writing.

My Project

The students in my classroom range from elaborate writers full of details to those who struggle to get their thoughts onto the paper. Creative writing is easy for some, while others excel at reporting their research. The 3rd and 4th graders in my class all do have one thing in common and that is being able to present their writing as best as possible. They work for hours, days and sometimes even weeks on a creating a writing piece they are proud of. Most of the times their work will get placed onto a bulletin board in order to be showcased. How great would it be for my students to be able to turn their writing pieces into actual books. By binding their writing together they are able to create books, portfolios and projects that can be easily enjoyed and shared with others as well as preserved for a lifetime! My students will be able to publish what they have learned and their hard worked on writing pieces into treasures - I am sure the next best award winning author is in my classroom!

Please help the students in my class let their writing shine and be seen and shared with others.

Allow them to showcase their work in a manner that is encouraging and motivating! What a great way to do that, prove to these children that their writing is valuable and should be displayed with the most pride!
