Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our Pre-K center is going on it’s fourth year. Our school provides developmentally appropriate practices and a safe environment that is conducive for learning. Our mission is to provide opportunities for our students to learn and grow through authentic experiences that will build a solid foundation for their academic success. The program we provide our students incorporates interactive activities, student-inquiry based lessons, and appropriate social and emotional experiences that target the holistic development of a preschooler.

Our school is located in a low-income area that strives to provide support to our students, as well as their families.

We are continuing to build relationships and incorporate the cultures of our students and their families into our everyday instruction.

My Project

My students are always thoroughly engaged in block center play. They are always building objects they know or objects they are learning about. Having these materials in the classroom will help challenge our future architects. The markers, graph paper and chart paper will be accessible for my students to plan their building or object they would like to build. Helping my students understand new vocabulary such as blueprints and the real process of how buildings are built. The ink cartridges and laminating sheets will be available for my students to research a structure of their choice. They may print, laminate and display the structure they would like to build. The tape and other mounting materials will help display their work.
