My Students

I am excited to start this year because I have a very dynamic group of 7th graders for ELA. I know many of them well from teaching their 6th grade Social Studies class last year. The discussions that we had about history were rich with thoughtfulness and depth.

My students demonstrated their growing critical thinking skills when we brought historical topics, like the factors that led to the fall of the Roman Empire, to the present day challenges we face in America.

I am excited to continue to foster their growth this year in ELA. I anticipate great conversations about literature and a lot of amazing writing.

My Project

This year my students will be embarking on many great literature adventures. We are lucky to have new books for this year, but we do not have storage for them.

We are requesting the Classic Birch Space-Saver Storage Tray Center, Storage Trays, and Flex-Space Comfy Floor Seats which will help us to create a comfortable, safe, and organized reading nook in our ELA classroom.

Giving students choice, space, and autonomy in their reading will help foster their love of literature and hone their skills. Providing flexible space in my classroom will support students as they explore literature. This will be an important part of our ELA classroom.
