This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The supplies requested will provide students with the tools to apply financial literacy through two unique projects. First, students will design and build a mini golf course as part of a STEM unit, where they will charge stakeholders $1 per round and sell snacks, learning valuable skills in entrepreneurship, budgeting, and profit calculation. These experiences will help students understand the financial aspects of running a small business, from managing costs to generating revenue.

The second part of the project involves supporting my art teacher, who is generously donating her time to teach painting classes to stakeholders.

The supplies will cover the cost of canvases and paints, while students gain full profit from the class fees. This teaches students about the concept of service-based business models and reinforces financial literacy through planning, marketing, and profit-sharing.My goal is for students to develop a strong grasp of financial literacy by applying it in real-world contexts. Through the mini golf course and painting class, they will learn how to budget, manage supplies, track profits, and reinvest earnings. This project not only enhances their understanding of entrepreneurship but also helps raise funds for their overseas fundraiser. Ultimately, I want students to gain confidence in their ability to manage and grow money while giving back to the school community through their creative and business efforts.
