Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

The students in my class come from diverse backgrounds and socioeconomic statuses. Our special education preschool class has specialized instruction for students with Autism, behavioral needs, sensory needs, and emerging language. I provide a structured, yet engaging environment where all my students can be successful. In order for my students to access their curriculum, I need to supplement many of my activities with modified materials. Thanks to generous donors who support my projects, this is made possible and we are so grateful.

My Project

Help me teach important financial literacy concepts through dramatic play.

When students engage in activities through play based learning, concepts are quickly developed and retained.

The Hundred Board, Education Fruit Counters, and Counting/Sorting Bears will help target key early math skills and will be a great addition to any center activities.

The Tasty Treats Play Food Set, Play Money, and Toy Cash Register will allow my students to apply what they learn in school when visiting a grocery store in the community. In addition, these materials will help provide a dramatic play area where they can practice shopping at a grocery store. Not only does this strengthen core curriculum concepts, but also allows for generalization of information.
