Functional Cooking and Cleaning Skills for Students with Disabilities

My Project

I teach a middle school functional life skills class with students of various levels of skills. Students focus not only on learning academic skills, but also social, communication, behavioral and life skills. We have a full kitchen in our classroom that is needing an update. With the supplies in this project, students will be able to build on their skills to become more independent in cooking and cleaning.

My goal is to help my students become more independent learners and contributing family and community members.

The Air Fry Oven Toaster. the microwave oven, dish rack, silverware, plates, and other supplies in this project will help my students practice how to make meals, snacks, and desserts, as well as participate in classroom "chores". Some of the supplies will also provide us with adapted materials so students would need less help with the task.
