My Students

My students have learning disabilities that make learning math concepts difficult. They need to be taught using various methods. These games and activities will help them learn and have fun while doing it!

My students are in a Special Day Class specifically for students with Autism.

They attend a public school in an affluent area however the students are not well off. They are bussed in from low income areas surrounding the school. They all have learning disabilities that stem from having Autism.

My Project

My students have a hard time understanding and applying abstract math concepts. They can memorize math facts but they don't know what they mean. They need fun ways to learn math concepts. Fraction Action, Flip 'n Lock Fractions and Math Dashtm Game: Multiplication and Divsion are a few games that can help them with these concepts. These games will allow the students ample hands on opportunities where they would apply the abstract meaning of math concepts by making them concrete.

With the help of these materials my students will expanding their math knowledge as I can't teach them more complex math operations until they have mastered multiplication.

They need these skills to be successful in math, in school, and later in life.
