My Project

My students are in the second grade. My class is a mixture of special education students and general education students. They are coming into the school year with varying reading levels. For this reason, we will be spending the majority of our literacy block in small-group instruction.

Small groups allow for our students to get exactly what they need by building on their strengths and addressing any challenges.

I plan to use these materials during our small group intervention period. The materials requested will be used for our foundational teacher-directed lessons. The children will interact with these items daily. The dry-erase board requested has wheels and is easily mobile, a feature I need as my group will be working outside of my classroom. The pocket chart will hold the sound cards and allow the children to come up and manipulate the cards throughout our lessons. The cardstock will allow me to create additional supplies using similar colors to the program we are using.
