My Project

Welcome to Occupational Therapy! We work on fine motor skills and developing good finger skills to help with pre-writing tasks. We'll be setting up an Art Corner using paints, paint brushes, paint cups, and smocks where students to be working on a vertical surface to increase wrist motility and wrist extension to create ease when writing in notebooks.

Theraputty will increase fine motor strength, gaining finger strength and intrinsic muscles by finding and pulling out small colorful beads from within.

Sorting games and using tongs, starting from three prong toddler tongs and moving to kids tongs will help students with their grips, allowing them to learn how to ultimately hold pencils.

Students will learn how to button, zip, snap closures among other fasteners to help with daily tasks for dressing, toileting, and every day use.
