Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Third graders will create a budget for dye/run packets (sunglasses, invitations, and color powder), determine supplies needed for attendance, and calculate the measurement of the run course. Each student will create a spreadsheet using Google Docs to document all expenses. Students will also complete race set-up. Thus, my third graders will have a real-world application of their financial literacy and computer literacy skills.
My student will finalize their unit on financial literacy by hosting a Color Run for their fellow schoolmates.
Students will develop a flyer for the event. Using color ink on our printer, students will advertise around the school about their upcoming event. The run will be given as a reward to students who have been excellent members of our school's community. Scholars who receive an invitation to color run will be chosen by our Third Grade student panel.
