My Students

Preschool curriculum goes further than simply learning the ABC's and 123's. Children are learning about different movements, coordination, and balance. They are learning how to take turns, share materials, and play group centered games. All the while learning about fitness and health! Their disabilities differ, but most are placed on the Autism spectrum. We are located on an elementary school campus and are the only Pre-K in the district. My students have their days planned full of interventions, assessments and therapy sessions. They are all such hard workers that face great difficulties daily. When they come to school, we want them to be excited and happy. School should be challenging, but there's no reason it can't also be fun! Despite their disabilities, the students in my classroom are just like any other preschooler. They love coming to school and exploring their environment in hands-on ways. We love music, dancing, and art (especially the messy kind!), but our favorite time of the day is story time! If you were to visit our classroom, you would probably be introduced to our favorite book, "Pete the Cat," within the first five minutes of your arrival (probably sooner!).

My Project

I am requesting a Jungle Jumparoo gym with accessories in order to work on key gross motor and coordination development.. My classroom is a preschool on an elementary school campus. While we have a playground on campus, it is geared towards older children. My students need age appropriate active play materials in order to learn about healthy habits and fitness goals. I have requested Jungle Jumparoo with accessories to help work on gross motor skill development, while also allowing my students to engage in cardiovascular play. The hanging bar add on will help increase motivation and fun while using the gym. I have also requested storage bag to help keep the Jungle Jumparoo in working condition for years to come!
