This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My scholars are joyful and resilient fourth graders who overcame the gaps of knowledge of technology and typing during a historical time in a high-needs area. We all have not seen each other since March, I can honestly say this is the longest amount of time I have gone without seeing my students. Although we met live and communicated daily it was a tearful goodbye in June. However, the new year brings us the hope of change and safety.

I am truly excited about my rising fourth grade class because I had taught them when they were in kindergarten; now I am honored to see them grow and partake in this historic, blended learning fourth grade year!

Big smiles and waves await us in September. In my class we are always a family and a team. We work together to build each other up and thrive in our community and the world!

My Project

We are preparing to return to school during an unprecedented time. When I taught in the spring remotely my students struggled when they did not have their own headphones. Many of them were borrowing headphones from family members and friends.

This project provides each scholar with headphones they can use at home and a reusable mask they can wash.

The masks are fun and inviting to encourage the students to wear them. This project also provides each student with their own base 10 math kits to practice in school and at home during blended learning. Additionally, this project includes individual, travel-size hand sanitizers for each child. The disinfecting wipes will be used hourly and are scarce to find. Each item in the project will support safe hybrid learning for the students.
