Help me give my students tools to learn at various stations in our classroom. They love flexible seating options and enjoy setting their own timers for work.
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Stoner's classroom raised $206

My Students
I teach an amazing group of 3rd, 4th and 5th graders with a range of disabilities from Autism, Specific Learning Disabilities, Cerebral Palsy, ADHD, Hearing Impairment and Emotional Disturbance. These students have a wide range of backgrounds socially and economically. Our school is located in a low socio-economic area and strive for parent involvement.
I want my students to have the same learning opportunities as their typical peers.
They want to learn, understand, and be a part of activities, like their non-disabled peers. My students require a multitude of learning strategies and materials in order to reach their true potential. This involves many different ways of teaching and tools for engagement.
My students LOVE to learn through technology and enjoy moving around the classroom while they learn and work with me or a small group. They are so curious and it is very rewarding as a teacher when their light bulb goes off or something clicks and they start striving academically and socially.
My Project
My students will be thrilled to have a new flexible seating option. It will make a great addition to our reading corner. They love to set their own timers so they can see how much time they have left to complete their work. My students also use computers daily and we need headphones so they do not distract their peers working nearby. The huge magnetic paper that looks like an actual piece of paper from a notebook will be very engaging. It will be nice to show them all how to write letters appropriately. They all need writing skills for success in their school careers!
