Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach a full day preschool class at a public school in Los Angeles. My 4 year old students like to interact and learn! They are creative, thoughtful and full of questions. They are learning how to communicate and interact appropriately with their peers.

Their favorite subjects is science.

Their young minds need hands-on experiences to learn. My students absolutely love to explore, are adventurous, and enjoy learning.

Most of my students are second language learners, so developing their receptive and expressive language is essential.

My Project

These ramps will be used to reinforce science standards!

Through hands-on learning experiences, they will learn about building, gravity, friction, problem solving, speed of objects, and cooperative play.

We will use these ramps so students can race their cars. They will observe how a car's speed will vary according to how steep we build the ramp. Students will be asked to make predictions before exploring. Students will be encourage to build their ramp in different way to observe if there are any changes in how their cars moves. Students will be encouraged to problem solve and think critically when building and exploring with gravity and velocity.
