My Students

My students are enrolled in an Industrial Arts, Engineering and Technology Academy. They come from many different backgrounds and family income levels. The students in this academy are interested in careers from auto mechanics, to astronauts. This academy is roughly 75% male.

Many students are so busy after school or too engaged with technology that they need some downtime for their brain to just focus.

The students love hands-on engaging activities​ but love reading books too. Students need quiet time to decompress.

My Project

When students are not in school they are so busy with other activities or too hooked on technology that reading during non-school hours may not happen. I love to start each period with about 10 minutes of quiet reading time. This helps the students decompress from the last class and prepare them for science class.

These engaging and colorful science books will spark interest and curiosity in the students all year long and many students for years to come.

Help me build my class library and fill my shelves with fun, engaging science books that the students will enjoy for years to come.
