My Students

As a teacher in a low-income/high poverty school district, my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite the many challenges they face, I am looking to keep things simple and provide my students with positive rewards for their hard work.

From the minute they walk in the door of my classroom I focus on their potential and growth while they are with me.

Positive reinforcements help me to motivate them during the school day. By doing this in a creative and positive way, I am hopeful to inspire even our earliest learners to continue on a path of academic excellence.

My Project

Classroom rewards are an essential component for a special education classroom who need motivation to work. These rewards would help create a more positive atmosphere in my classroom and give students something positive to look forward to. Tangible rewards will help the less motivated kids and will encourage them to complete their assignments. Students would be able to use the pencils, eraser heads, and pencil grips to get as a reward and use it to get their work done. Extrinsic motivation is the most effective way to get these students to work their hardest and be the best they can be.
