My Students

My students are learning things for the first time and they love bugs. Students are excited to discover new and strange things.

My students are excited about learning and reading for the first time.

They love to share with parents and visitors to our room. My students often are below level in reading and are looking for that spark to excite them. Allowing them to read, feel and hear as well as interact with each other opens up their world to things they have yet to discover.

My Project

These resources (books, cds, and manipulatives) will help me create an interactive learning center to inspire the students to dream and look at the world around them. Students will not only learn to read but will have a better understanding of the small creatures around them. Students who are on grade level with reading often finish school. I know that allowing students to read, write, draw, feel, dream and inspire their imagination gets them hooked on school.

We do not know what leaders we are teaching today.

Allowing a student to learn today about insects may inspire them to develop a new drug, computer game, or even save a life. I want to make school fun as we focus on the standards knowing that each activity may change a life.
