My Students

My students are, in one word: amazing. They aspire to be future lawyers, doctors, astronauts, teachers, professional athletes, and so much more.

However, my students are also facing many challenges.

Our school is located in an urban impoverished community. Our school is Title I; meaning the majority of students qualify for free/reduced lunch.

Regardless of the hardships my students face, they are relentless and show up to work hard. It is my job to ensure they receive an excellent education; one that will aid them in pursuing their biggest dreams.

My Project

At or school, families rely on the after school program. Over 200 students stay every day in the after school program. Teachers run clubs and activities for students from 4pm - 6pm Monday through Friday.

Our school currently has limited resources to help make the program both educational and fun.

This Donors Choose project will provide after school staff with a variety of crafts and games to keep students engaged during the program. Through engaging in educational play, students will develop social skills, communication skills, and collaboration skills.

Each resource provided adds values to the after school program. Activities such as Play-Dough and Marble Run Games will promote teamwork as students work together and expand their imagination. Dash robots integrate science and technology into the program, helping build 21st century skills. Students will continue learning and growing throughout the after school program as a result of these resources.
