Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My first graders can get overwhelmed and overstimulated with things that may happen at school. I am creating a space in my classroom for them to be able to calm down and reset for the day.
The fun rug and the comfy cushions will create a relaxing and comforting environment for all my students to use to be able to soothe themselves with the other items I have in the calming corner.
I will be able to use the table for students to be at for their Discovery Time or small activities throughout the day. I like how it is a foldable one so that I can put it away when not in use. I have 4 small wooden chairs that will go nicely with the table.
I also am asking for a portable filing box so that I can store items for the calm-down corner. This will allow my students to get what they need and not need my help.
