Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

All work and no play can make any child unwilling to learn especially children with special needs. Educational games can be a fun way to learn, please help us to have fun and be educated at the same time!

I work in a low income neighborhood in Brooklyn where the children that attend do not have the funds to purchase food and clothing, let alone games.

Due to the budget cuts in the city a lot of the elective classes have been cut such ss music and art. If you would donate to this project I would be able to interject fun as well as education in my classroom and be able to learn through play.

My Project

My students need educational games such as scrabble and boggle, and art supplies to make learning fun and hands-on. Through word and spelling games such as Scrabble and Boggle my students would benefit greatly because they are truly learning disabled. The "regular" way of instructing is hard for them, they think and acquire knowledge differently. So, through play and being interactive, my students would be able to internalize their education and become more confident in life.

These learning games and art supplies would greatly impact my special needs students because children who learn differently need a way to understand what is expected of them but in a non threatening way and hopefully will not be discouraged and always want to learn.
