My Students
I am so blessed to teach a special education classroom full of unique individuals who are all loving and eager to learn. My students are in first through third grade, and each one of them has their own educational learning goals. I teach at a Title I school, in a small east Texas town. Most of my students come from a high poverty area where resources are stretched thin. I am a member of ATPE, and I love teaching!
My Project
This project will allow my students to work independently throughout the classroom using flexible seating. They will be able to comfortably read and write and do math in bean bag chairs. Some students are more active than others and the wobble chairs will help them work and get the wiggles out and to help them stay more focused. It is important for students to feel like they are a part of their education and have the choice to choose where they learn in the classroom. Choice is great for students in the classroom and helps with engagement and positive behavior.
