Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I'm a school counselor who works with elementary school students that come from diverse cultures and socioeconomic statuses. In our school, we deeply value the social-emotional learning of all of our students and believe in the importance of providing students with group and individual counseling to enhance their development.

My students are bright, loving, and funny young individuals that enjoy being in the company of their friends, peers, and the rest of our school community.

Although some students have been enjoying being back to school in person after being away from each other for almost two years, there are some students that may find it difficult adjusting to school for various reasons. In counseling, students will be able to share their different experiences with remote and in-person learning in a confidential, comfortable, and interactive space.

My Project

Students are always welcome to stop by the counseling room when they're having a hard time in school, want to talk about something that happened with family or friends, or if they just want a quiet and cozy space to decompress. Students may sometimes not know what it is they're feeling, or sometimes they may not be able to verbally express themselves on their own.

These supplies will aim to make it easier and less stressful for my young students to express themselves whether in an individual or in a small group counseling session.

With the support from their counselor and these supplies, students will feel comfortable and happy knowing counseling is available for them.
