My Students

My students have driven children who are motivated to learn, no matter the challenges they are faced with. As a SPED teacher in a low-income school in Brooklyn, NY, I want to provide my students with the best possible education while working in a blended learning module. My classroom is a SPED kindergarten-second grade classroom of ten kids. Some are general education students but most are students with disabilities. They are all super adorable kids. We have thirty percent English Language Learners (ENL) and seventeen percent students with disabilities. We thank you in advance and appreciate any help you can give us.

My Project

In-person learning has been so different this year. Since last year we have had to adjust and try to keep up academically. Catching up is no fun, so we are trying to bring some fun back into kindergarten through centers, especially literacy and math centers.

We try our best to expand our learning through some fun activities every day, and hope to receive some new literacy and math center materials.

This project is to help my students with their Math skills, Simple adding and subtracting, phonics skills, beginning sounds, and simple sight word sentence activities.

I want my students to become more proficient in knowing their numbers, letters, and sight words. Centers are a great way for kids to have fun while learning, especially when they are able to self-correct. Center time also promotes turn-taking, sharing, and fine motor skills, besides improving the skills needed to be lifetime learners.
